Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE President, His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Ain Region, attended the graduation ceremony of the 44th cohort of the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) graduates. The ceremony took place at the UAEU’s campus in Al Ain Region.
The graduation ceremony began with the UAE national anthem, followed by a visual presentation showcasing the student journey at the UAEU. This was followed by a speech delivered by His Excellency Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, Cultural Adviser to the UAE President and Chancellor of the UAEU, who highlighted the university’s key achievements and academic mission. The ceremony also featured a graduates’ speech and a medical oath taken by graduates of the College of Medicine and Health Sciences before His Highness.
His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan congratulated the graduates, their families and the university administration on this academic achievement, wishing the graduates success in their future careers and encouraging them to apply their skills, scientific knowledge and professional expertise in serving the nation and contributing to its prosperity and ongoing development.
His Highness emphasised that investing in education is a fundamental pillar in building human capital, noting that the graduation of a new cohort of the nation’s youth from this prestigious academic institution reflects the vision of the UAE’s leadership, led by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE. His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan also noted that the graduation reflects the UAE President’s commitment to preparing a generation equipped with knowledge and expertise, that is capable of contributing effectively to national ambitions, keeping pace with future needs and driving a competitive, knowledge and innovation-based economy.
The ceremony was attended by His Excellency Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State, Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, senior officials, distinguished guests, families of graduates and members of UAEU's academic and administrative staff.
In his speech, His Excellency Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh emphasised that witnessing the graduation of a new cohort of the nation’s youth is the fruit of the vision of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who believed that investing in people is the cornerstone of the country’s prosperity and sustained growth. His Excellency reaffirmed that the UAEU continues to deliver its national mission as a leading academic and research institution at the national and regional levels, through its commitment to preparing qualified generations that contribute to supporting the nation’s development and keeping pace with global changes by adopting the latest specialisations and advanced technologies.
His Excellency also highlighted that the UAEU, as it prepares to celebrate its golden jubilee, continues its efforts to achieve leadership and excellence with the limitless support of the UAE leadership, contributing to shaping the nation’s future through high-quality educational outcomes and scientific research aligned with the priorities of comprehensive development.
The 44th cohort includes 2,698 male and female graduates from across various scientific disciplines. The first day of the ceremony is dedicated to students who received grades of Distinction and Distinction with First and Second Honours (821 graduates), while the second day is dedicated to the remaining graduates from different academic programmes (1,877 graduates).
