His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Ain Region, has received a delegation from Abu Dhabi Airports, led by Elena Sorlini, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer.
During the meeting, His Highness was briefed on the comprehensive five-year development plan for Al Ain International Airport, including key pillars of the strategic plan aimed at strengthening its role as a vital hub for aviation and logistics.
The plan includes upgrading the airport’s infrastructure and main facilities to meet the highest international standards, aimed at supporting the UAE’s increasing air traffic volume and addressing the development needs of Al Ain Region across several sectors.
His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan also reviewed future development projects at Al Ain International Airport, focused on upgrading facilities and services to enhance operational capabilities and attract more regional and international airlines. These efforts aim to strengthen connectivity between Al Ain Region and global destinations, while serving the needs of the local community and business sectors.
The meeting also highlighted the significance of activating the free zone at Al Ain International Airport to attract investors and create new opportunities for enhanced industrial and logistics growth, strengthening Al Ain Region’s competitiveness as a leading destination for businesses and investment.
His Highness asserted that the development of Al Ain International Airport represents a key pillar of the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, to drive comprehensive progress across Al Ain Region.
His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan highlighted that the development plan will focus on enhancing the airport’s operational capacity, harnessing the potential of UAE talent, and expanding its role as a key regional and global hub for air transport and logistics, thereby attracting increased investment and boosting economic and development growth across Al Ain Region.
His Highness also outlined the importance of advancing the development of Al Ain International Airport according to set programmes and timelines, to further reinforce the role of this vital logistics hub in driving sustainable economic growth and enhancing investment and tourism across Al Ain Region.
Abu Dhabi Airports officials reaffirmed their commitment to advancing Al Ain International Airport’s development by upgrading its services and infrastructure, and expressed their appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his ongoing support of the aviation and logistics sectors in Al Ain Region.
The meeting was attended by Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan; His Excellency Rashed Musabbeh Al Manei, Director General of Al Ain City Municipality; along with several officials from the municipality and Abu Dhabi Airports.
