The Abu Dhabi Sewerage Services Company (ADSSC), which collects, treats and safely disposes of waste-water in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, has announced the appointment of Ahmed Al Shamsi as its Chief Executive Officer. Al Shamsi succeeds Omar Al Hashimi, previous CEO and one of the founders of ADSSC, who dedicated his knowledge and experience to driving ADSSC to success.

In his new role, Mr. Al Shamsi will lead and work to further enhance ADSSC’s commitment to championing best practices globally, playing a key role in serving the community and executing the company’s strategic plan to provide high quality services.

Mr. Al Shamsi’s appointment follows a 20-year career in the petrochemical and retail fuel industries, including his position as Acting CEO of ADNOC Distribution. He also served as a Board Member at ADNOC Fertilizers.

Commenting on the new appointment, His Excellency Mubarak Obaid Al Dhaheri, Chairman and Managing Director of ADSSC, said: “We are pleased to announce the appointment of Ahmed Al Shamsi as CEO. We are confident that his leadership, valuable knowledge and extensive experience will contribute to further building the company, enabling him to strengthen our partnerships and build new relationships. We also thank Omar Al Hashimi for his dedication and commitment during his time at ADSSC.”

On his appointment as CEO, Mr. Al Shamsi said: “I look forward to contributing towards ADSSC’s vision to be recognised as a world leader in sustainability, innovation and efficiency in the provision of waste disposal services, while also promoting an environmentally responsible culture in Abu Dhabi.
