During the event, Ma’an launched the Abu Dhabi Social Responsibility Label, which recognises the key role institutional contributors play in supporting Ma’an’s work to further enhance wellbeing in the emirate. 169 High-net-worth individuals and 62 companies from across the UAE were honoured for their contribution to the advancement of Ma’an’s programs that address various social priorities in the emirate.

In his opening address, His Excellency Dr. Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili said: “The UAE’s wise leadership continues its support for the social sector in Abu Dhabi to drive sustainable social development, and enable various entities to contribute to enhancing the quality of life, while helping Abu Dhabi consolidate its status as a preferred destination to live and work.

“By offering various initiatives and programs implemented in collaboration with relevant entities and partners, the social sector in Abu Dhabi aims to promote social cohesion and foster a culture of social participation, community contribution and social innovation to enable all members of society to live a decent life.

"Ma'an has succeeded in creating innovative opportunities to solve many social challenges and ensured the participation of both individuals and organizations from the government and private sectors, and public benefit and civil society organizations. This has contributed to achieving a positive impact and finding creative solutions to foster cohesion and resilience in our community. Such efforts have led Ma’an to launch initiatives like ‘Together We are Good', which was rolled out in 2020 and became one of the most significant social assistance programmes in the region.”

His Excellency also appreciated the role of social contributors in delivering a positive impact on community by extending financial, in-kind and moral support, noting that that social cohesion is an important aspect of sustainable social development.

Her Excellency Salama Alameemi praised the support and care extended by the UAE’s leadership for initiatives and programs led by Ma’an to nurture a collaborative and inclusive society in Abu Dhabi, and shared her appreciation for all who have contributed to Ma’an’s efforts.

Her Excellency said: "We will continue to work with various partners, organisations and individuals, to address various social priorities in the emirate in line with Abu Dhabi Government’s focus on innovation. The Abu Dhabi Social Responsibility Label will be a noteworthy addition to our efforts, and will enable members of the community to learn more about organisations that consider community development a top priority in their corporate ethos.”
