The Department of Community Development in Abu Dhabi (DCD), join Iftar for workers at Worker Village in mussaffah. Organised in cooperation with the KIZAD Communities, the gathering aimed to promote camaraderie and strengthen communication between workers and DCD officials.
His Excellency Hamad Ali Al Dhaheri, Undersecretary at the Department of Community Development, said: “Workers are an integral part of our society. Hence, the department always tries to promote happiness and harmony among them and develop a sense of loyalty and belonging in them to their workplaces. This Iftar is our recognition of the crucial role they play in society. It is also an effort to instil love and affection in them in the holy month, which spreads positivity.”
H.E. Al Dhaheri added that the gathering also highlighted the values of community participation and giving, which are a top priority for DCD that tries to build an exemplary society based on love, tolerance and mutual respect. “Such a society will enhance Abu Dhabi's global image. Moreover, service to humanity is key to advancing sustainable development,” he said.
Al Dhaheri pointed out that the Iftar event underscored DCD’s awareness about the importance of serving and caring for all members of society, in line with the vision of the leadership to provide a decent life for everyone.
To ensure workers’ wellbeing and provide a decent quality of life to them, DCD conducted surveys to ascertain their needs and aspirations, in addition to organising lectures in different languages to ensure that the messages reach each and every one of them.
The department also launched specialised programmes and campaigns for workers, including the “You Matter” drive that aimed to promote the importance of protecting their mental health by following public health recommendations and to boost their positive energy as important members of the community.
Designed in eight languages, the campaign reached the largest possible segment of workers in the residential complexes and neighbourhoods in which they live. Carried out at a time when the world was going through turbulent times due to the pandemic, the campaign aimed to clarify to the workers the channels for receiving psychological support when needed.
It’s worth noting that AD Ports Group recently launched KIZAD Communities Development and Services Company (KIZAD Communities), a new reimagined approach for staff residential communities that aims to enhance the quality of staff accommodation. KIZAD Communities will see AD Ports Group expanding its existing staff accommodations services to provide a full range of integrated solutions for employee accommodations, including new developments, services, and property management solutions.
