Al Dhafra Region Municipality, part of the Department of Municipalities and Transports, has introduced an AI-powered road sweeping vehicle as part of an integrated system aimed at improving public cleanliness, promoting environmental sustainability across the region's cities, enhancing cleaning efficiency, reducing operational costs, and supporting environmental sustainability.
The advanced sweeper combines sweeping and washing functions simultaneously, enabling effective removal of dust and sand. This contributes to reducing pollution and improving air quality. The vehicle also offers high operational efficiency, featuring a large waste container with a capacity of 8 cubic metres and a water tank capable of holding up to 5,200 litres.
The modern sweeper relies on advanced artificial intelligence systems and precise sensors that allow it to operate in a semi-autonomous manner. It can detect waste and determine the most efficient cleaning routes with minimal direct human intervention, thereby enhancing productivity while reducing the time and effort required for cleaning operations.
The municipality added that the introduction of these solutions aligns with its strategy to adopt modern technologies in municipal services. This initiative further strengthens Al Dhafra's position as a leading region in implementing smart city concepts and contributes to providing a clean and healthy environment for residents and visitors alike.
Through this initiative, the municipality seeks to support innovation in the municipal services sector and achieve integration between technology and sustainability, in line with the UAE's vision of developing smarter cities with greater efficiency in resource and service management.
