The Department of Government Enablement – Abu Dhabi (DGE) has announced its collaboration with Majalis Abu Dhabi in the Citizens and Community Affairs Office of the Presidential Court to enhance the AI Majalis initiative, which was recently approved by the Abu Dhabi Executive Council. The initiative aims to empower people with AI skills and knowledge through awareness sessions held across the emirate as part of the UAE Year of Community.
The sessions were launched in September and will continue until the end of November 2025. Taking place in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and Al Dhafra, they provide a platform for learning and dialogue in AI. The aim of AI Majalis is to give community members of all ages the opportunity to be part of a future where AI is a driving force to enhance quality of life, while increasing efficiency and productivity.
As part of its efforts to realise the vision of Abu Dhabi Government to become fully AI-native by 2027, DGE leads the initiative with the additional support of Core42, a G42 company, and global technology leaders including Microsoft, Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Dell Technologies. By utilising cross-sector collaboration, the initiative ensures that AI learning is both community-rooted and globally informed.
His Excellency Dr Yasir Al Naqbi, a Director General at DGE, said: “AI Majalis embodies Abu Dhabi’s commitment to inclusive innovation. By integrating the knowledge of AI fundamentals and applications into the Majalis ecosystem, we aim to empower community members to actively contribute to the digital transformation and enhance their readiness for the future.”
His Excellency Wesam Lootah, a Director General at DGE, said: “AI Majalis was designed with everyone in mind — open to all levels of experience. It ensures people and technology evolve together by integrating AI learning into familiar majlis spaces where communities can engage with technology daily and in meaningful ways. By including discussions on ethical AI and practical applications, we are empowering communities to use AI responsibly and confidently.”
With AI as a cornerstone of the Abu Dhabi Government Digital Strategy 2025–2027, AI Majalis is one of many initiatives supporting the emirate’s journey towards becoming the world’s first AI-native government by 2027.
It ensures that as AI is embedded across all aspects of life, communities are supported with the skills and knowledge to benefit fully and inclusively from this transformation. By making AI approachable and relevant across all segments of society, AI Majalis helps every citizen and resident in Abu Dhabi engage with technologies shaping their lives and future.
