Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Al Dhafra Region, the Zayed Charity Run will take place on 25 November 2023, continuing its message of goodness, giving and humanity. All proceeds will be allocated to support innovative and life-saving treatments for cancer patients through the Abu Dhabi Stem Cells Centre.

Open to people of all ages and abilities, the race includes distances of 3km, 5km and 10km, as well as a 10km race for People of Determination.

Lieutenant General Mohammed Hilal Al Kaabi, Chairman of the Supreme Organising Committee of the Zayed Charity Race, said: “As we prepare to hold the Zayed Charity Race during the coming weekend, we proudly recall the lofty goal of organising this sporting and charitable event to serve our local community. We look forward to continuing to make a positive impact on society through cooperation with humanitarian institutions and charities, in line with the basic message of the event, which is to provide assistance and goodness to society, and to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to contribute to these noble endeavours and goals.

The Zayed Charity Race was established in 2001 and continues to spread messages of humanity and giving that embody the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, which have spread throughout the world for more than 20 years. The theme We Run to Help remains the underlying message in all iterations of the race in different cities.  

Abu Dhabi Stem Cells Centre is considered the first of its kind in the UAE, having been established in 2019, headquartered in Abu Dhabi. It specialises in providing the latest treatments using stem cells and regenerative medicine as well as conducting research on stem cells and cellular therapies. It has been accredited as a Centre of Excellence in Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation by the Department of Health in Abu Dhabi. In addition the Abu Dhabi Bone Marrow Transplantation Programme is the first comprehensive programme to offer hematopoietic stem cell transplantation from the patient’s blood or from donor blood for adults and children in the UAE since 2020.
