Organised by Abu Dhabi Sports Council and the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club Academy, the Noukhthat Abu Dhabi Summer Program has been launched. The programme will run from 13 July to 20 August 2026, as part of joint efforts to strengthen the younger generation’s connection to the UAE's rich maritime heritage and prepare a new generation of nokhathas (captains) capable of carrying forward the legacy of their forefathers. The programme is supported by Abu Dhabi Maritime, Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority, the Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Authority, and Sarh Group.

This year's programme will be held across three main locations: Abu Dhabi, Al Mirfa and Dalma Island, providing wider access for participants to benefit from a comprehensive training curriculum that combines theoretical learning with practical maritime experience.

The programme aims to instill national identity and preserve the UAE's maritime heritage by introducing participants to the fundamentals of traditional sailing, dhow handling and navigation while developing essential seamanship skills in a comprehensive training environment supervised by experienced instructors and maritime specialists.

The programme also seeks to identify and foster promising talent in both traditional and modern marine sports, preparing participants for future involvement in the various marine championships and events organised by the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club throughout the year.

The initiative builds on the success of previous editions, which attracted strong participation from eligible age groups and established the programme as one of Abu Dhabi's leading summer initiatives dedicated to marine sports and maritime heritage. It reflects the shared vision of the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club Academy and the Abu Dhabi Sports Council to invest in young talent, ensure the sustainability of traditional marine sports, and pass them on to future generations through an engaging educational experience.
