Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA), the UAE’s largest healthcare network, is partnering with KSM (Kahn Sagol Maccabi), the Research and Innovation Center of Maccabi Healthcare Services, Israel’s leading HMO, to collaborate in research, study and innovation.
Under the June 29 agreement, signed at SEHA’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi, KSM will provide support and infrastructure for collaborative, coordinated activities in research, learning workshops and digital health development, relying on KSM's global experience and worldwide partnerships.
The SEHA-KSM partnership will also support the Emirate’s goal of building a genomic research registry to optimize clinical data, sample collection and clinical reporting.
“This partnership supports SEHA’s vision and objectives of exploring collaboration opportunities in other areas that foster cooperation in education, research, health technology, and clinical programs. We look forward to a successful partnership and extending this program to our facilities and distinguished practitioners,” said SEHA Group CEO Saeed Al Kuwaiti.
“I am excited to share this strategic cooperation between KSM and SEHA, as we are constructing a bridge together for joint research and support in the development of an ecosystem in the field of medical innovation,” added Dr. Tal Patalon, head of KSM. “We aim to advance medical research and development, in partnership with SEHA, in order to create new value for the entire Middle East.”
KSM will support SEHA in sharing research and knowledge on epidemiological, diagnostic and interventional studies, including clinical trials. The partnership will include workshops on research methodologies and exploring opportunities for health technology, digital health and innovation.
The partnership will also explore ways to expand genetic research capabilities, develop best practices for using genetic data, and develop collaborative studies focusing on the genetic etiology of various relevant morbidities such as obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular diseases.
“We are proud to announce this signing with KSM,” said SEHA Group Education Director Dr. Ghanem Al Hassani. “The agreement will enhance cooperation in scientific research, exploration of genomics and knowledge transfer to accelerate economic growth and human progress. Such collaborations are essential to bringing the best know-how and research to the forefront and are fundamental to promoting research, training and academics to overcome future healthcare challenges.”
