The UAE will host the international emergency exercise ConvEX-3, 26-27 October, at Barakah Nuclear Energy Plant. The exercise is part of continuous efforts to maximise preparedness and ensure world-class response capabilities, based on international conventions.

Organised by the International Atomic Energy Agency, the drill will be implemented under the supervision of the UAE National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority, and in accordance with the legislative framework of the Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation.

More than 170 countries and international organisations, and more than 10 local entities will participate in what is one of the world’s most advanced simulation drills.

The simulations will include several emergency scenarios within units of the Barakah Plant and its vicinity, and aim to ensure the UAE’s full preparedness and demonstrate its commitment to the highest international standards for safety, security and transparency.
