His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Chairman of the Education and Human Resources Council, has attended the graduation ceremony of 226 male and female Higher College Technology students in the presence of His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence.

The students achieved outstanding qualifications with distinction and distinction with honours in various disciplines across HCT's 16 campuses including engineering, technology and science, health sciences, business, computer information science, applied media and education.

The ceremony, for the 2023’s Today's Leaders for Tomorrow cohort, took place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) and was attended by His Excellency Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation and HCT Chancellor; Dr. Faisal Alayyan, HCT President & CEO; as well as dignitaries and senior officials, HCT teaching & administrative staff, and graduates’ parents and families.

The celebration commenced with the UAE national anthem followed by a video presentation showcasing the HCT’s cutting-edge programmes, majors and applied learning environment.

In his speech representing the HCT's Board of Trustees, Dr. Faisal Alayyan highlighted the UAE leadership's unwavering focus on quality as the key to development. Dr. Faisal Alayyan emphasised that this belief in human capital has motivated Emirati citizens to surpass challenges, excel and achieve remarkable accomplishments.

Dr. Faisal Alayyan expressed deep gratitude and appreciation to the UAE's wise leadership, led by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, for their unwavering support to HCT, which played a vital role in enabling its successful mission and contribution to the labour market's growth and development by producing highly competent professionals across diverse fields.

Dr. Faisal Alayyan added that HCT's dedication to ongoing development is crucial for qualifying competencies based on the specific demands of each phase. Dr. Faisal Alayyan highlighted the HCT's new strategy, known as Shaping the Future 2023, which aims to advance applied education in alignment with national aspirations and adapting to labour market changes. This strategy relies on inclusivity and integration as its main pillars, enabling the HCT to prepare upcoming professionals from bachelor's and vocational diploma graduates in close collaboration with both public and private business sectors. The aim is to provide valuable experiences and enhance employment prospects, making HCT graduates the preferred choice in the job market.

Dr. Faisal Alayyan expressed his heartfelt congratulations to the graduates and extended his best wishes for their future endeavors, hoping for their continuous success.

During the graduates' acknowledgement speech, the graduates expressed their immense joy and pride on this special day, sharing their gratitude for the unwavering support and trust of the UAE leadership in its citizens. The graduates recognised the overwhelming joy felt by their families and conveyed their heartfelt appreciation to their teachers and supporters who played a vital role in their journey to success.

A highlight for all those in attendance was when His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan presented the graduates with their certificates and posed with them for a commemorative group photo to capture the special occasion.
