The General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, and Zakat (Awqaf) has commemorated the anniversary of the Prophet’s Hijrah with an event held at Sheikh Theyab bin Zayed Mosque on Al Jubail Island, Abu Dhabi.
The event highlighted the values of faith, trust in God, love of country, family cohesion, preparedness and planning, as well as the importance of reinforcing these values across the community.
It included a panel discussion titled Commemoration of the Prophet’s Hijrah in the Year of Family: Enlightenment for Homes and Nation, which explored lessons drawn from the Prophet’s Hijrah and their role in strengthening family and community stability.
The event also featured literary and cultural activities inspired by the values of loyalty and sacrifice in the Prophet’s biography. These included the recitation of Loyalty and Sacrifice: Values of the Prophet’s Hijrah, a poem by a winner of the Hafeet Religious Talent competition.
The commemoration formed part of the authority’s role in highlighting religious occasions and their humanitarian significance, while promoting the values of belonging, dedication, family cohesion and community stability.
