The Climate Tribe has launched its Film Club, with a screening of Ocean with David Attenborough at the Climate Tribe Hub in MiZa, Abu Dhabi. The event gathered environmental advocates, creatives and community members from across Abu Dhabi, including Sheikha Shamma bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Founder of The Climate Tribe, supporting efforts to inspire climate action and awareness through storytelling.
The Climate Tribe aims to inspire climate action and awareness through storytelling, as one of the first green impact production studios in the UAE dedicated to creating sustainable content that seeks to promote awareness and spark action.
The screening is the first the Film Club series, which is designed to educate, inspire, and bring people together through impactful storytelling. Ocean with David Attenborough was selected to inaugurate the initiative due to its powerful conservation message and educational value, perfectly aligned with The Climate Tribe’s mission to foster awareness, spark dialogue, and build collective action around climate challenges.
Sheikha Shamma bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan said: “We owe so much to brilliant storytellers like Sir David, who have dedicated their lives to bringing people closer to nature, and to teaching us that our actions have consequences on earth’s fragile ecosystems. The programme highlighted diverse perspectives on ocean conservation, sustainability, and the power of creative storytelling to drive change. The evening encouraged dialogue, reflection, and collaboration among attendees, setting the tone for future Film Club sessions.

By curating community screenings with educational value, the initiative bridges knowledge-sharing with collective action. The Climate Tribe believes that storytelling told consciously has the power to shape culture, shift perceptions, and move people to act. Looking ahead, the hub will continue to host inspirational screenings, fostering a growing community of climate-conscious individuals, creatives, and changemakers, and transforming awareness into action.
Co-produced by Silverback Films and Open Planet Studios, Ocean with David Attenborough showcases life under the seas and exposes the realities and challenges facing the ocean as never-before-seen, from destructive fishing techniques to mass coral reef bleaching. The film is centered around three key themes, bringing to life stories of the ocean through new filming and stories from David Attenborough and coastal communities.
