The second phase of the 19th Al Dhafra Festival - Razeen Mazayna competitions - will be held from 15 to 22 November 2025 at the camel beauty contests platform in Razeen, Abu Dhabi.
Organised by the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority, the Al Dhafra Festival includes four camel beauty competitions (Mazaynas) held in Suweihan, Razeen, Madinat Zayed, and the Al Dhafra Final. Together, they comprise 355 rounds and 3,370 prizes with a total value exceeding AED88.7 million, distributed across the Majahim, Local Asayel, Asayel Crossbred, and Wadh categories.
The Razeen Mazayna leg will feature 76 competitions for camels owned by Their Highnesses and tribal owners, including 38 rounds for Local Asayel camels, 32 for Majahim, and 6 for Asayel Crossbreds, across six age categories: Mafarid, Haqayiq, Lagaya, Yedaa’, Thanaya, and Hool. A total of 730 prizes, worth AED11.45 million, have been allocated for this phase.
The Razeen Mazayna platform is expected to draw a large number of camel owners from across the UAE and other GCC countries, competing in events that showcase their authentic customs, deep-rooted traditions, and a heritage proudly passed down through generations.
The first phase of the festival, the Suweihan Mazayna, was held from October 27 to 3 November 2025, with the participation of 2,402 camel owners representing the Majahim, Local Asayel, and Asayel Hybrid breeds from six Gulf and Arab countries - the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, Qatar, and Yemen. The main stage at the Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Heritage Racetrack in Suweihan attracted more than 24,000 visitors, including camel owners, heritage enthusiasts, and tourists.
