Abu Dhabi Airports has demonstrated resilience, ensuring business continuity across all five airports in the emirate following the recent temporary disruption to UAE airspace.
At the forefront of this effort was Zayed International Airport (AUH), where operations teams worked around the clock in close coordination and alignment with the Emergencies, Crises and Disasters Management Centre – Abu Dhabi (ADCMC) and relevant authorities to safely and progressively resume limited flight operations following a period of disruption.
The coordinated response across Abu Dhabi’s aviation ecosystem reinforces the emirate’s capacity to respond swiftly, decisively, and in coordination during complex operational scenarios. Over the past week, extensive efforts were carried out under strict safety protocols and through deep cross-sector collaboration between stakeholders across the aviation, hospitality and transport sectors to safeguard operational continuity while maintaining the highest standards of care and support for passengers.
Ahmed Juma Al Shamisi, Acting Chief Executive Officer of Abu Dhabi Airports, said: "Recent developments have once again demonstrated the strength of Abu Dhabi’s aviation ecosystem and the exceptional coordination between our partners and stakeholders. Our teams worked tirelessly alongside the relevant authorities to ensure the safe and orderly resumption of operations while maintaining the highest standards of safety and care for our passengers, guests and airport personnel. Protecting the wellbeing of everyone across our airports remains our foremost priority, and we are proud of the dedication and professionalism shown by all partners involved in supporting travellers and maintaining operational continuity at Zayed International Airport and across our wider network."
As airspace restrictions were eased, Abu Dhabi Airports worked closely with airline partners and authorities to implement a phased restoration of limited flight operations, ensuring all safety, security, and operational standards were fully met prior to the partial resumption of services.
The response highlights the robust systems, strong partnerships, and operational readiness that define Zayed International Airport, reinforcing its position as a resilient and trusted global gateway committed to safe and seamless travel.
