The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) has combined its dedicated retail and dining arms - Retail Abu Dhabi and Abu Dhabi Culinary – to create an all-new Abu Dhabi Shopping and Dining Season.
Running until 31 August, the Abu Dhabi Shopping and Dining Season incorporates Summer of Style, Summer of Ice Cream, and Summer of Offers, where participants can enjoy exciting promotions and interactive experiences, including international brand and stylist collaborations.
Numerous high-profile guests will be taking part, including renowned make-up artist Ash K. Holm, and international fashion director and editor Nicola Formichetti.
On the culinary front, diners are invited to beat the heat with an array of ice cream-themed activations led by The Ice Cream Lab, which features residencies by international brands such as Pan-n-Ice, the original ice roll company from the UK; and a showcase of 1,001 ice cream flavours in one location in an attempt to break a Guinness World Record.
Foodies will also not want to miss the new-to-Abu Dhabi ice-cream pop-ups, and the special menus and promotions available in various Abu Dhabi malls in partnership with The Huntr, Zomato and Smiles.
“Following our best-performing summer campaign ever last year, our objective is to continue empowering retailers, brands and restaurants to deliver a truly memorable season underpinned by a schedule of unique first-to-region experiences designed to amaze residents and visitors alike,” said HE Ali Hassan Al Shaiba, Executive Director of Tourism and Marketing at DCT Abu Dhabi.
Shoppers can take part in the Shop & Win promotion, run in partnership with global digital payment leader Visa, in which Visa cardholders spending AED 200 or more in participating outlets can win exciting prizes, including brand new cars.
“Visa is pleased to once again partner with Retail Abu Dhabi, this time along with Abu Dhabi Culinary, to offer eligible Visa cardholders exclusive prizes during Abu Dhabi Shopping and Dining Season,” said Shahebaz Khan, General Manager of Visa UAE.
“Encouraging and rewarding cardholders is critical to rebuilding consumer confidence in this new retail environment. Visa remains optimistic about the resilience of Abu Dhabi’s retail sector and committed to working with partners like Retail Abu Dhabi and Abu Dhabi Culinary in supporting the UAE’s retail sector navigate the COVID-19 environment.”
Etihad Airways is also offering four million Etihad Guest Miles, with four lucky shoppers set to win one million miles each. Etihad Guest Visa Cardholders receive three entries into the draw for every AED 200 spent at participating malls.
“This summer’s Abu Dhabi Shopping and Dining Season represents a tremendous value-add for Etihad Guest Visa Cardholders and UAE residents,” said Kim Hardaker, Head of Loyalty and Partnerships at Etihad Airways.
“We are proud to play our part in Abu Dhabi’s ongoing incentivisation of the emirate’s retail and culinary scene. With such an extraordinary Etihad Guest Miles giveaway, we are making sure members can be rewarded on the ground as well as in the air.”
