Under the patronage Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation and Mother of the Nation, and with the guidance of Sheikha Fatima bint Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy, and Chairwoman of both the Abu Dhabi Ladies Club and the Al Ain Ladies Club, the Fatima Bint Mubarak Women’s Badminton tournament will kick off on 25 May 2025 with the participation from more than 120 female players from across the UAE.

The tournament aims to strengthen women’s presence in individual sports and support the ongoing growth of women’s sports in the UAE by providing a competitive platform for both Emirati and resident women in the open age category (15 years and above).

Organised in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, Abu Dhabi Racquet Games Club and UAE Badminton Federation, the event reflects a shared commitment to empowering women through sports and fostering a more inclusive and dynamic athletic landscape.

The tournament is the first-of-its-kind for women in Abu Dhabi, with a total prize pool of AED6,000 in addition to other rewards including medals and trophies for participants, as well as special gifts for the audience. The tournament aims to motivate participants to deliver their best performance and enhance their athletic skills by competing with top players from various professional levels, enriching their experience and promoting a culture of sporting excellence.

 The Fatima Bint Mubarak Academy Badminton Tournament for ladies 2025 affirms the Academy’s commitment to empowering women in sports and providing competitive platforms that enhance their presence across various disciplines, aiming to discover new talents and continue elevating the name of Emirati women’s sports.
