Organised by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADSC), the Al Ain Half Marathon will take place on 8 November 2025. The race will start from Hazza bin Zayed Stadium and feature four distances: Half Marathon 21.1 km, 10 km, 5 km, and 2.5 km.
The event aims to promote the upcoming ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon, scheduled for December 2025, and reinforce Abu Dhabi’s position as a leading global destination for sports and community engagement.
Blending Al Ain’s heritage with a strong sense of community participation, the event offers distances suitable for all fitness levels, encouraging families, sports clubs, and amateur runners of all ages to take part. It seeks to foster a culture of physical activity and healthy lifestyles across society.
The Al Ain Half Marathon serves as the second promotional event leading up to the ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon, which will take place on 13 December, 2025, in the capital. This series of preparatory events aims to expand community participation and attract runners from across the UAE and the wider region.
The Sports Village for the Al Ain Half Marathon will open its doors at the plaza in front of Hazza bin Zayed Stadium, offering a comprehensive sports and entertainment experience over four days, from 5 to 8 November. The village will feature live music and entertainment shows, a variety of food and beverage kiosks, interactive activities for children and families, booths for sponsors and commercial partners, as well as designated areas for relaxation and post-run recovery.
Facilities inside Hazza bin Zayed Stadium will include a VIP lounge, an elite athletes’ area, a media center, a volunteer room, and a fully equipped medical clinic to ensure the highest standards of safety and comfort for all participants.
His Excellency Aref Hamad Al Awani, General Secretary of the ADSC, said: “The organization of the Al Ain Half Marathon is part of our continuous efforts to establish Abu Dhabi as a world-class sports and community destination. We are proud to host this event in Al Ain, a city that combines authenticity, heritage, and natural beauty, reflecting the diversity that defines our nation.
“The Al Ain Half Marathon embodies the Abu Dhabi Sports Council’s vision to enhance community participation in sports and to encourage everyone to embrace an active and healthy lifestyle. It also serves as a key milestone on the road to the ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon, one of the region’s most prominent sporting events.”
Al Awani emphasised that the promotional races for the ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon, including the Al Ain Half Marathon, play an important role in raising awareness about sports and encouraging participation in the main event in Abu Dhabi.
