His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Office, has visited Yas Marina Circuit to review preparations for hosting the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

The 14th edition of the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix follows a 10-year agreement signed last year between Abu Dhabi Motorsports Management and Formula One Group to continue hosting the F1 season finale at Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi.

More than 100,000 visitors attended the 2021 F1 season finale on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi. Nearly 109 million people, 29 per cent more than the previous year, watched it on TV, marking the highest viewing figures for a race during the season.

More than 60 per cent of all visitors to the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix come from overseas, and the event highlights Abu Dhabi’s position as a world-class tourism destination, as well as a major global entertainment and sporting hub.
