His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Dhafra Region, has attended the 7th Historic Dalma 60ft dhow race, and awarded the Hasheem 199 boat first place alongside other winners organised by the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority and Abu Dhabi Sailing Club at Dalma Island, Al Dhafra Region.
His Highness praised the role of the race in promoting maritime heritage and UAE National identity and traditions.
Attracting more than 3,000 sailors aboard 122 dhows to compete for a AED30 million prize pool, the event consolidates marine races' importance as a key contributor to preserving the UAE’s cultural heritage.
