The Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority has concluded the EMS Conference 2025, with wide participation from distinguished experts, field leaders, and specialists from around the world.

The closing day featured a comprehensive recognition ceremony celebrating the efforts that contributed to the success of this international event. Brigadier Salem Abdullah bin Barak Al Dhaheri, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority, honoured several categories in appreciation of their contributions to strengthening the emergency medical system. The honourees included paramedics who contributed to successful CPR operations in the field, those with the highest response rates to emergency calls in 2025, paramedics who demonstrated outstanding dedication and excellence in fieldwork, as well as paramedics who participated in special missions, events, and additional tasks that enhanced the readiness and operational capacity of the ambulance sector.

The Director General also honoured the conference speakers for their scientific contributions, members of the Scientific Committee for their role in developing and managing the scientific programme, the judges and trainers involved in the Ambulance Challenge, the organisers, the teams behind the accompanying exhibition, and the committees responsible for the challenge and the conference, recognising their organisational and logistical efforts that contributed to the success of the event.

The ceremony also included the awarding of the winning teams in the Ambulance Challenge, which brought together 12 international teams. The UAE National Ambulance team won first place, the Australian team secured second place, and the Qatari team placed third. This challenge is the first-of-its-kind in the Middle East and North Africa, and it aims to enhance the proficiency of emergency teams, inspire innovation in training, and elevate the level of medical response.

In her closing remarks, Col Dr Maitha Mohammed Al Darei, Director of Ambulance Department, Chair of the Scientific Committee, Abu Dhabi International EMS Conference, expressed her pride in the success of the event. She emphasised that the conference served as a global knowledge platform bringing together leading experts and specialists, contributing to the exchange of expertise and the presentation of the latest practices and technologies in ambulance services and emergency medicine.

She praised the efforts of the organising committees and participants, highlighting that the conference established several important pillars, including strengthening international cooperation, harmonising protocols and standards to enhance care quality, supporting the adoption of modern technologies and artificial intelligence, enhancing integration among response entities, and focusing on the well-being of frontline workers to ensure sustainable field performance.

The conference concluded by reaffirming Abu Dhabi’s ongoing commitment to cementing its position as a leading regional and international centre for ambulance and emergency services through investing in national talents, fostering innovation, and developing smart systems that contribute to saving lives and enhancing quality of life.
