Abu Dhabi Police and Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority have launched the seventh edition of the Safe Summer Campaign, which will run until 30 August 2026, as part of their ongoing efforts to enhance security and safety, and deliver pioneering services that strengthen community confidence. The campaign aims to raise awareness of preventive measures and safety requirements necessary for a safe summer season.
The campaign focuses on promoting public awareness of preventive behaviours that help protect lives and property during the summer months. It delivers awareness messages to parents on the importance of supervising their children and not leaving them unattended in swimming pools or inside vehicles while shopping, due to the serious risks such actions may pose to their safety.
The campaign also highlights the importance of guiding children towards the safe and balanced use of modern technologies and warns against the risks associated with violent electronic games, which may negatively affect the behaviour of children and adolescents, as well as their psychological and social well-being.
Abu Dhabi Police and Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority are utilising various media and digital platforms, community councils, field programmes, and direct engagement channels to disseminate preventive awareness messages and promote a culture of safety and social responsibility, contributing to reducing incidents and risks during the summer season.
Abu Dhabi Police emphasised the importance of adhering to preventive and security guidelines and taking the necessary measures to protect homes and property while travelling. These measures include the use of smart security systems and alarm devices, as well as safeguarding cash and valuables in secure locations to enhance preventive security and protect property.
Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority is participating in the campaign through awareness programmes and field initiatives aimed at enhancing fire prevention and reducing accidents during the summer season. These efforts form part of the authority’s ongoing commitment to promoting a culture of safety, protecting lives and property, and mitigating seasonal risks. The authority is focusing on safety requirements in homes, workplaces, and facilities, particularly the safety of electrical installations, the importance of installing fire detection and alarm systems, and subscribing to the Hassantuk system to further strengthen safety and security across Abu Dhabi.
Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority called for supporting preventive efforts and urged all individuals and organisations to comply with safety requirements and adopt preventive behaviours, emphasising that such practices represent the first line of defence in protecting lives and property.
In support of the strategic priority of Smart Road Safety, Abu Dhabi Police urged motorists to ensure their vehicles are roadworthy, conduct regular tyre inspections, and comply with safety procedures to prevent accidents and vehicle fires caused by high temperatures. The force emphasised that prevention is a shared responsibility that requires the cooperation of all members of society to maintain community safety and security.
Abu Dhabi Police also encouraged the public to contribute to enhancing community security by reporting any security-related information through the Aman service on 8002626, by sending an SMS to 2828, or via email at aman@adpolice.gov.ae.
