The Abu Dhabi Projects and Infrastructure Centre (ADPIC), in collaboration with the Emirati Talent Competitiveness Council (Nafis), has launched the Bunaa Programme, a new strategic programme designed to empower Emirati talent and develop the next generation of leaders across Abu Dhabi’s integrated infrastructure ecosystem. The programme reflects ADPIC’s commitment to enhancing national human capital and driving sustainable, knowledge-based economic growth.

Derived from the Arabic term for builders, the Bunaa programme reflects the country’s spirit of nation-building and embodies ADPIC’s belief that the UAE’s greatest asset is its people. The programme is rooted in the values of growth, resilience and responsibility, seeking to equip Emiratis with the knowledge, technical skills and practical experience required to shape Abu Dhabi’s future development.

Structured as a comprehensive three-year career development journey, the Bunaa programme provides a clear, progressive pathway for UAE nationals entering fields related to infrastructure, engineering, construction and project delivery. Participants will develop different specialities across the project lifecycle, encompassing Design and Engineering, Project Management and Execution, Procurement and Contract Management, Project Monitoring and Control, and Financial and Expenditure Management, ensuring that they acquire the practical skills required to excel in the field.

Throughout the programme, participants will benefit from structured mentorship, applied learning, and access to professional certifications. The combination of hands-on experience and accredited training is designed to strengthen their technical expertise whilst preparing them to assume future leadership roles.

HE Eng. Maysarah Mahmoud Eid, Director General of ADPIC, said: “Inspired by the vision of our Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who taught us that the true wealth of any nation lies in its people, Bunaa represents a vital investment in our human capital. Through this programme, we are building the next generation of Emirati leaders who will design, manage, and deliver the world-class projects shaping our emirate. It establishes a sustainable talent ecosystem, ensuring that our most ambitious visions for Abu Dhabi are realised by our own skilled professionals.”

To ensure the successful delivery of this mission, ADPIC is collaborating with government entities and leading private-sector organisations across the construction, engineering and urban development sectors. These strategic partnerships ensure that the Bunaa programme supports national Emiratisation priorities and provides participants with exposure to significant projects, industry best practices and the highest standards of performance across the infrastructure landscape.

ADPIC emphasises that the programme’s success is grounded in collaboration, practical learning and meaningful engagement with industry leaders. The initiative reaffirms ADPIC’s commitment to developing highly capable Emirati professionals who will play an essential role in shaping Abu Dhabi’s long-term infrastructure framework.

Registration for the Bunaa programme is now open and UAE nationals wishing to apply or obtain further information are invited to contact bunaa@adpic.gov.ae for additional information.
