The Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre (ADPHC), in collaboration with the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH), and a wide network of government entities, private-sector partners, community organisations and educators, announced that the Festival of Health 2025 will kick off on Friday, representing Abu Dhabi’s annual celebration of healthy living.

Expected to attract more than 30,000 visitors and featuring over 140 diverse activities, the festival aims to encourage citizens and residents to make positive and sustainable lifestyle changes that enhance their future readiness. It empowers the community to adopt proactive, preventive habits that support their wellbeing and overall quality of life. The Healthy Living Strategy—recently approved by His Highness Khalid bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council—sets a unified, cross-sector roadmap to make healthy living easier and more accessible for everyone.

The festival will take place across all three regions of the emirate: from 12–16 December on Al Hudayriyat Island in Abu Dhabi, 19–21 December at Madinat Zayed Public Park in Al Dhafra, and 26–28 December at Al Jahili Park in Al Ain. Each location will transform into an interactive space that brings the community together to celebrate health, encourage positive choices and experience the joy of wellbeing—all supported by a broad network of partners.

Reflecting Abu Dhabi’s commitment to making health a shared responsibility, the festival unites multiple sectors to advance the emirate’s long-term public health priorities. It reinforces Abu Dhabi’s leadership in building preventive, resilient health systems capable of serving current and future generations.

Strategic partners include PureHealth and Sakina, the Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT), Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADSC), Modon (Hudayriyat Island), Al Ain Farms, Agthia, Burjeel Cancer Institute, Nestlé and AstraZeneca. The Open Masters Games Abu Dhabi joins as the Official Community Partner, while Abu Dhabi Media Network serves as the Official Media Partner.

The festival is further supported by a wide network of Community Partners, including Special Olympics UAE, Active Abu Dhabi, the Department of Community Development (DCD), Boehringer Ingelheim, Appolonia, the International Centre for Culinary Arts (ICCA), Ultrahuman, M42, GSK and Reem Hospital, each contributing specialised expertise and programming across the festival’s four wellbeing pillars.

Additional Community Supporters helping enrich and expand the festival’s reach include Eli Lilly, Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination (ZHO), 321 Sports Gym, Mediclinic, Aurora Vision Group, Novo Nordisk, Talabat, Bodytree Studio, Haleon, Lululemon, Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy (FBMA), Kibsons, Emirates Foundation, and Abu Dhabi University.

The Festival of Health reflects Abu Dhabi’s commitment to shifting from reactive healthcare to a proactive, preventive model. Built around four core pillars—movement, nutrition, sleep and mental wellbeing—the festival translates health awareness into daily practice through educational, interactive and hands-on experiences. These activities demonstrate how simple, consistent choices can reduce long-term health risks and improve quality of life.

Among the festival’s flagship activities is the “city moov challenge”, a digital experience that uses locations across the emirate to create mental and physical challenges for participants. Individuals who complete the challenge will be rewarded with valuable prizes, encouraging greater engagement in physical and cognitive activity.

Designed as an inclusive community-wide movement, the festival welcomes people of all ages and abilities, including families, youth, older adults and people of determination. Through evidence-based workshops, cooking demonstrations, fitness sessions, mindfulness programs, competitions and family-friendly activities, visitors will be inspired to take small, achievable steps that lead to sustainable behavioral change and a healthier lifestyle.

The festival forms part of ADPHC’s year-round programming to reinforce healthy habits, encourage regular screenings, promote physical activity and support preventive practices that contribute to building a healthier Abu Dhabi.
