The Mohamed Bin Zayed University for Humanities and the International Islamic Fiqh Academy of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation signed a Memorandum of Understanding to cooperate and facilitate and exchange of expertise and experiences in the field of scientific research on contemporary issues as well as the completion of studies and research of common interest and the publication of research and articles in journals and affiliated publications.
In addition, both parties committed to cooperating in the fields of authorship, publication and translation of various research and to consider the possibility of concluding partnership between the institutions, colleges and institutes affiliated to each of them.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by HE Dr. Hamdan Al Mazrouei, chairman of the MBZUH board of trustees and his Excellency Prof. Dr. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary General of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy.
The Memorandum of Understanding also calls for organizing joint programs for distance education, benefiting from education resources and databases that are available to each party, exchanging digital data for electronic libraries, e-learning courses and visual communication channels, as well as exchanging experiences in the field of digital education, allowing both parties easy access to the content of each party, taking into account the legislation in force on both sides, exchanging publications, books, periodicals, research, scientific messages and introductory visits, and holding joint academic, cultural and social activities and events during those visits.
HE Dr. Khaled Al-Dhaheri, MBZUH chancellor emphasized that signing the agreement is part of the strategy of the Mohamed Bin Zayed University for Humanities partner with regional institutions, entities, and its affiliated scientific centers, which are concerned with scientific research on contemporary issues, and to enhance scientific and intellectual exchange and partnership to advance scientific research.
He said that the university is moving forward in this approach based on its vision that aims to support the scientific research process in the UAE and the region in general, and its relentless quest to be a prestigious academic center in the world in the field of humanities, social and philosophical sciences, and to present Islam and Arab culture in a civilized manner based on spreading the virtues of tolerance, love, and respect for human rights, and upholding the values of moderation, moderation, and openness to the different cultures and peoples of the world.
Dr. Al-Dhaheri added, "This cooperation will pave the way for greater cooperation and exchange of scientific and intellectual experiences between the two parties, and to develop joint programs that will lead to further interest in research, studies, publishing, documentation, authorship, translation, and strengthening capabilities in this vital field."
He said that the Mohammed Bin Zayed University for Humanities will spare no effort to implement the terms of this memorandum on the ground, stressing that it is a real beginning of future strategic cooperation between the two sides.
