The highly anticipated events, Middle East Design & Build Week (MEDBW) and Middle East Manufacturing & Technology Expo (MEMT) are gearing up to bring the construction, design, manufacturing, and technology industries together in September. Jointly organized by Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce & Industry and CONNECT, the events aim to accelerate technological advancements in the construction, design, and manufacturing industry through a showcase of innovative solutions between 12 - 14 September 2022 at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), UAE.

The events have garnered support from government bodies and leading industry associations, such as Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Ministry of Industry & Advanced Technology (MoIAT), Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED), Ministry of Economy, UAE Chambers, Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism, Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), British Contract Furnishing Association, Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), The Manufacturing Technologies Association (MTA), Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), and Etihad Airways.

As part of the Abu Dhabi Industrial Strategy to strengthen the emirate’s position as the region’s most competitive industrial hub, the Abu Dhabi government has announced an investment of Dh10 billion ($2.72bn) across six industrial programmes. This move is expected to raise the size of the manufacturing sector to Dh172bn by 2031. The strategy’s initiatives focus on key manufacturing sectors, namely, chemicals, machinery, electrical power, electrical equipment, transportation, agri-foods, and pharmaceuticals. To spur growth and innovation in the manufacturing sector, the government plans to invest in Industry 4.0 programme by adopting new technologies and processes, digital geographic information system (GIS) mapping programme, home-grown supply chain programme, value chain development programme to drive local infrastructure development, circular economy programme, and talent development programme.

Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED), the Strategy Partner of the events, play an instrumental role in driving economic growth and diversity across various sectors that advance the Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030. Over three days of the events, a series of thought-provoking discussions and informative workshops will unite industry leaders to discuss strategies and initiatives for growth of the construction, design, and manufacturing sectors. Experts from the Ministry of Economy, AESG, American University in Dubai, Abu Dhabi Department of Culture & Tourism, RIBA, Simone de gale Architects, Schueco Middle East, and VOX will shed light on topics such as construction market outlook, trends shaping the construction industry, the future of technology in architecture, innovation in design, smart space for smart living in the Construction Talks forum. In addition, an exclusive Construction Workshop will cover the BIM + digital technologies to create a smart sustainable future.

Distinguished industry influencers, C-suite executives and leaders from Emirates Steel, Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development, Al Masaood LLC, and many other firms will impart valuable insights in the Design Talks session on building a safer future for construction, 3D print collaboration for construction, sustainable architecture, sustainable construction, and accessibility in design.

The Manufacturing Talks session will stage eminent leaders from the Ministry of Industry & Advanced Technology, Emirates Development Bank, and other prominent corporations to emphasize on the Make it in The Emirates strategy, manufacturing market outlook, development of SME manufactures, manufacturing workforce, and financing manufacturing sector. The Manufacturing Workshop will present lean management techniques for reducing cost, increasing quality control and functionality.
