His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, has received the community sports team Active Abu Dhabi, who recently undertook the Row Abu Dhabi challenge, rowing from the far west border of Abu Dhabi to Yas Island over ten days to enhance community awareness of the importance of preserving the marine life and protecting the environment.
During the reception, His Highness met with participants and highlighted the outstanding achievements of the Active Abu Dhabi team, praising their efforts to promote community-wide active participation in outdoors activities and challenges as part of a healthy lifestyle.
His Highness urged the team to continue participating in initiatives that increase people’s awareness of their natural environment, promote a sustainable lifestyle, and connect the community through sport.
With the support of the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi; Department of Community Development – Abu Dhabi; Etihad Airways, PureHealth, Miral, Al Dar Properties; Ali & Sons, Al Fahim Group, Al Masaood Energy; and Edge Group, Active Abu Dhabi is spearheading a series of yearly sports programmes designed to promote community engagement with sport and foster positive interaction within society.
