Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination and the Egyptian Ministry of Youth and Sports have partnered to implement the Bridge of Amal Holding programme. The programme aims to raise awareness and support People of Determination in various rural areas in Egypt.
The initiative, which aims to benefit more than 400 people, is supported by the Abu Dhabi Development Holding Company (ADQ Holding). The programme will develop 60 centres for People with Determination affiliated with the ministry, starting from 2024. Internet services will be provided in the centres, along with the establishment and financing of a medical caravan that will travel across several Egyptian governorates to provide urgent medical care to People with Determination and their families. The initiative also includes equipping various facilities, centres and sports clubs to make them accessible for People of Determination. The agreement includes the implementation of a joint communication channel between the entities.
The signing ceremony took place at the headquarters of the Egyptian Ministry of Youth and Sports, and was attended by delegation from UAE and Egypt, including, Her Excellency Mariam Al Kaabi, the Ambassador of UAE to Egypt and Permanent Representative to the Arab League, and Dr Ashraf Sobhi, the Minister of Youth and Sports.
The agreement was signed by His Excellency Abdullah Abdul Ali Al Hameidan, the Secretary General of the Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination, and Major General Abdel Rahman Shalsh, the Deputy Minister and Head of the Central Administration for Minister's Office Affairs, at the Egyptian Ministry of Youth and Sports.
Her Excellency Mariam Al Kaabi, the Ambassador of UAE to Egypt and the Permanent Representative to the Arab League, said: "I am honoured to welcome you all, and I am pleased to have you participate in the signing ceremony of the memorandum of understanding between Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination and the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Arab Republic of Egypt. I would also like to express my sincere thanks and appreciation to the Egyptian Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Zayed Higher Organization, and everyone who contributed to organising this meeting."
His Excellency Abdullah Abdul Ali Al-Hamidani, the Secretary General of Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination, expressed appreciation to ADQ Holding for supporting the initiative. His Excellency praised the bilateral cooperation between UAE and Egypt’s institutions for the benefit of People with Determination.
Dr Ashraf Sobhi, the Minister of Youth and Sports, said that he appreciated the cooperation with UAE in the fields of youth and sports. Dr Sobhi added that the Egyptian Ministry of Youth and Sports collaborates with institutions to serve communities through the implementation of a variety of programmes, and emphasised Egypt’s interest in integrating People of Determination into various activities and projects.
