Under the chairwomanship of Shamsa bint Hamdan bin Mohammed, Design Commission Abu Dhabi (DCAD) introduces One Nation. One People initiative

Under the chairwomanship of Her Highness Sheikha Shamsa bint Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, the Design Commission Abu Dhabi (DCAD) has introduced the One Nation. One People initiative, a community-driven effort celebrating the spirit of togetherness that defines life in the UAE.

Inspired by the UAE Year of Family values, the initiative reflects a simple but powerful idea: that the nation is home to people from many backgrounds who live together as one extended family. Citizens and residents share the same streets, schools, workplaces, and communities, united by a sense of belonging and care for the country they call home.

The initiative invites institutions, schools, companies, and communities across Abu Dhabi to participate in a collective moment that highlights the bonds connecting citizens and residents across the nation.

A growing number of government entities, corporate partners, educational institutions, and community organisations across Abu Dhabi have expressed support for the initiative, extending its reach across workplaces, schools, and community networks.

Alongside this participation, the initiative will feature a series of community-focused activations, including a portrait series celebrating citizens and residents working together across sectors, short video reflections on the values that connect communities, and coordinated moments of participation across institutions and communities.

The initiative will also encourage youth engagement through schools and educational institutions, reinforcing the values of belonging, respect, and shared responsibility for the next generation.

Chaired by Her Highness Sheikha Shamsa bint Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, the Board of the Design Commission Abu Dhabi includes Nadine Maalouf, Executive Vice Chairwoman; Rana Kuzayli El Khoury, Undersecretary; and board and advisory members Asma Al Fahim, Rym Al Falasy, Rima Al Mokarrab, Meera Al Suwaidi, and Saood Abdulaziz Al Hosani.

Through initiatives such as One Nation. One People, DCAD demonstrates how design can bring communities together, celebrating shared values and strengthening the bonds that connect society.
