In the presence of His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes’ Affairs and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Erth Zayed Philanthropies, Emirates Foundation and INPEX JODCO Foundation have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen a long-term strategic partnership aimed at expanding cooperation across community development, volunteering, skills development, sustainability and social impact, while further promoting the exchange of knowledge and expertise between the UAE and Japan.

The MoU establishes a comprehensive framework for both organisations to develop joint initiatives aligned with national priorities and designed to deliver measurable, scalable and sustainable social impact by leveraging their respective expertise, resources and networks.

His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan said: “This partnership reflects the UAE’s approach to building effective collaborations that empower individuals and communities while creating new opportunities for the exchange of knowledge and expertise. Through the collaboration between Emirates Foundation and INPEX JODCO Foundation, we look forward to developing impactful initiatives that create sustainable impact, strengthen the longstanding ties between the UAE and Japan, and support the aspirations of communities and future generations.”

Under the MoU, both parties will establish joint coordination teams to identify priority areas for collaboration, develop implementation plans and establish clear performance indicators and mechanisms to measure outcomes, monitor impact and share lessons learned.

The partnership will also create opportunities to leverage Japanese cultural and educational expertise and networks, strengthen community and cultural exchange between the UAE and Japan, and support mutually agreed initiatives that can develop into sustainable and scalable models of collaboration.

The MoU was signed by His Excellency Ahmed Taleb Al Shamsi, Secretary General of Emirates Foundation, and Hiroshi Fujii, Representative Director of INPEX JODCO Foundation, reaffirming both organisations’ commitment to building a long-term partnership that delivers sustainable value for communities.
