Abu Dhabi’s vision to lead the world in AI-powered governance has earned global recognition, with TAMM AI Assistant named a top five finalist at the prestigious World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Prizes 2025 in the E-Government (C7) category. The shortlisting celebrates Abu Dhabi’s growing international standing as a pioneer in AI-driven governance and digital excellence.

Developed by the Department of Government Enablement – Abu Dhabi (DGE), TAMM AI Assistant is a flagship initiative as part of the Abu Dhabi Digital Strategy 2025-2027. Since its launch in October 2024, the platform has facilitated more than 630,000 conversations and over one million messages, connecting users to over 950 services through AI-powered support in Arabic and English.

The nomination reinforces Abu Dhabi’s journey to becoming the world’s first AI-native government, one that anticipates citizen needs, removes friction, and delivers seamless, intuitive public services. TAMM is part of a wider digital ecosystem led by DGE, which aims to implement 200 enterprise AI use cases by 2027 and transform the way government interacts with citizens.

His Excellency Ahmed Tamim Hisham Al Kuttab, Chairman of the Department of Government Enablement – Abu Dhabi, said: “TAMM’s nomination speaks to the strength of our shared commitment to helping to build a government that truly works for people — one that is faster, smarter and more intuitive.

TAMM AI Assistant represents the best of what’s possible when we combine innovation with empathy, and technology with purpose. Together, we are helping to create a future-ready government — one that anticipates needs, removes barriers and puts people at the centre of every service.”

To date, more than 400,000 users have engaged with TAMM AI Assistant, which autonomously resolves 95 per cent of requests, allowing human agents to focus on complex queries.

His Excellency Dr Mohamed Al Askar, Director General of TAMM, said: “This global recognition of TAMM is a milestone for Abu Dhabi’s digital government agenda. It proves what’s possible when innovation, data, and collaboration come together to serve society better.”

The WSIS Prizes spotlight global ICT-driven innovations that advance the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. Winners across 18 categories will be announced at a live ceremony in Geneva, Switzerland on 8 July 2025.

The UAE has a strong legacy at the WSIS Prizes, with multiple wins since the programme’s inception in 2012. This year, TAMM AI Assistant is the only initiative from the UAE to have been successfully recognised as a finalist in the 2025 WSIS Prizes. Previous winning initiatives from the UAE focused on areas such as digital education, cybersecurity, smart platforms and public sector innovation.

TAMM has become a vital part of daily life in Abu Dhabi, simplifying how people access essential government services with speed and ease. Its nomination at the WSIS Prizes 2025 positions Abu Dhabi as a global benchmark in digital governance and showcases DGE’s pivotal role in shaping a future-ready, AI-native public sector.
