The light up of Abu Dhabi’s iconic buildings is offered to commemorate local, federal, global events and special occasions. This involves projecting colours, flags, images, videos, or logos onto key iconic structures throughout the emirate. This initiative aims to bolster local campaigns, projects aligned with Abu Dhabi’s strategic goals, and government events. Additionally, it is a means to observe national occasions and celebrate the national days of friendly nations by displaying their flags, thereby enhancing bilateral relationships.
Examples of events eligible for light up requests:
1. UAE National occasions
2. Global observances and events endorsed by the United Nations
3. National days of GCC countries and friendly nations
4. strategic initiatives announcement
5. Demonstrating solidarity with friendly nations during natural disasters, such as earthquakes and floods.
Light up request steps:
1. Submit the light up request by filling in the form at least 15 days ahead of the event’s date. This includes the following:
- Attachment of the event’s media plan
- Attachment of the content to be projected
2. Abu Dhabi Media Office will assess the submitted requests within 5 to 10 working days.
Technical criteria:
- The event should be relevant to Abu Dhabi’s vision and strategic objectives.
- Light up materials must comply with the technical requirements of each screen ( kindly find below the technical conditions and requirements).
- In case of conflicting events, priority will be given to the event approved first or as per the relevant committee’s assessment.
- Building owners shall provide media coverage for their events and supply ADMO with high-resolution images by 8pm on the day of the event light up.
