Mohamed Bin Zayed University for Humanities (MBZUH) has launched its Master of Digital Media programme, marking a significant expansion of the university's graduate offerings in response to the rapidly evolving media landscape. The announcement was made at the BRIDGE Summit 2025, organised by the UAE's National Media Office in Abu Dhabi.

The programme represents MBZUH's commitment to advancing humanities and social sciences education while addressing the critical need for skilled professionals who can navigate the intersection of traditional media principles and emerging digital technologies. As media consumption patterns continue to shift and artificial intelligence reshapes content creation and distribution, the programme positions graduates to lead in an increasingly complex communications environment.

His Excellency Dr Khalifa Mubarak Al Dhaheri, Chancellor of Mohamed Bin Zayed University for Humanities, said: "This programme reflects our dedication to strengthening MBZUH's academic and research mission locally, regionally, and internationally.

"By introducing this specialised master's degree, we're responding to the accelerating transformation of the media landscape and equipping the next generation of communications professionals with both theoretical depth and practical expertise."

The Master of Digital Media degree is designed to cultivate a new generation of media professionals capable of producing and deploying sophisticated digital content across multiple platforms. The curriculum emphasises critical analysis of digital media discourse, enabling students to deconstruct and understand contemporary media messages with nuance and precision.

The degree programme will prepare students to create impactful digital content and manage strategic communication campaigns across emerging platforms; apply critical thinking to analyze the role of digital media in shaping public opinion and social trends; integrate traditional media knowledge with cutting-edge technologies, including artificial intelligence and data analytics; conduct rigorous academic research that advances understanding of communication phenomena and the future of media; navigate ethical and professional considerations in digital communication while developing persuasive and influential messaging; and contribute to responsible media practices that reflect societal values and engage meaningfully with global technological transformation.

His Excellency Dr Al Dhaheri said: "Our graduates will possess both the analytical rigor and technical proficiency required to excel in today's media environment. This programme bridges the gap between classical media theory and contemporary digital practice, ensuring our students are positioned at the forefront of an industry in constant evolution."

The launch at the BRIDGE Summit underscores MBZUH's role in supporting the UAE's knowledge economy and its vision for developing world-class talent in the humanities and social sciences. The programme aligns with national priorities for innovation, sustainable development, and the advancement of media excellence in the region.
