The Ataya initiative has provided Ramadan aid to the people of the Gaza Strip as part of Operation Gallant Knight 3, which included 31,000 food packages containing a variety of essential food items.
This comes within the framework of the humanitarian initiatives carried out by the UAE, under the directives of its wise leadership, to support the Palestinian people and improve their humanitarian conditions.
Her Highness Sheikha Shamsa bint Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Assistant Chairperson for Women's Affairs and Chair of the Ataya Higher Committee and wife of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Dhafra Region and Chairman of the Emirates Red Crescent, stated that aid efforts represent Ataya’s continued commitment to supporting the Palestinian people.
Her Highness added that the initiative reflects an urgent humanitarian response aimed at supporting Palestinian families and securing their basic needs during the holy month, reinforcing the UAE’s leading role in promoting the values of humanitarian solidarity.
Her Highness further noted that this initiative aims to strengthen food supply chains and ensure the availability of essential requirements in light of the current circumstances faced by the Gaza Strip. Her Highness affirmed that the journey of Ataya will continue in adopting sustainable humanitarian projects that address the needs of the most affected communities, in line with the initiative’s vision, which places human dignity and the sustainability of giving above all considerations, and seeks to create a real and tangible difference in the lives of the less fortunate.
The initiative allocated the proceeds of the 13th edition of Ataya Exhibition to support Palestinians affected by the crisis in the Gaza Strip, stand in solidarity with them, and improve their living conditions.
This was carried out through the implementation of several development and health initiatives under the Tarahum - for Gaza campaign. The Ataya initiative recently sent a number of ambulances to strengthen the healthcare sector in Gaza and enable it to deliver its medical services in the best possible manner.
This initiative comes as part of the United Arab Emirates’ ongoing efforts to support the Palestinian people and alleviate their suffering. The UAE is among the leading countries that have provided humanitarian assistance by land, sea, and air, contributing more than 45 per cent of the total international aid, amounting to billions of dollars.
On 19 February, 2026, during the opening meeting of the Peace Council in Washington, the UAE announced an additional contribution of US$1.2 billion to support the Palestinian people.
